Land of Buddha TourDay 01. Arrive Mumbai – Aurangabad

Upon arrival in Mumbai, board the flight for Aurangabad. Upon arrival here, transfer to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 02. Aurangabad - Ellora - Aurangabad

After breakfast, begin an excursion towards Ellora Caves, one of the highly visited world heritage sites and also one of the most respected rock-cut caves in the country. The cave complex houses 34 monasteries and temples with some exclusive uninterrupted sequence of monuments that dates back from 600 to 1000 AD. The temples of Ellora are dedicated to Brahmanism, Jainism, and Buddhism, depicting the religious harmony of the country since the ancient times. Post excursion, return back to Aurangabad for dinner and overnight stay in Aurangabad.

Day 03. Aurangabad - Ajanta - Bhusaval - Bhopal

After breakfast, begin an excursion to another famous world heritage site caves at Ajanta. The Ajanta group of caves, located deep within the Sahyadri hills above the Waghora River as a gorge depicts the story of different forms of Buddhism that prevailed here during 200 BC to 650 AD. Later in the evening, transfer to Bhusaval Railway Station and board the overnight train for Bhopal. Overnight on board.

Day 04. Bhopal - Sanchi - Agra

Land of Buddha TourArrive Bhopal Railway Station at 03.20 hrs and transfer to the hotel for wash and change with breakfast. After breakfast, begin the sightseeing of Group of Monuments at Sanchi. It is unique for having the most perfect and well preserved stupas & architecture during a period of about 1500 years, almost covering the entire range of Indian Buddhism. After sightseeing, return to Bhopal and transfer to Railway Station to board the connecting train Shatabdi Exp for Agra (14.40-20.25 Hrs). On arrival transfer to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 05. Agra - Lucknow

After breakfast, visit the Taj Mahal, the architectural wonder of the world. Agra city tour continues with a visit to the red sandstone fort here, famous as Agra Fort. Later transfer to the Railway Station to board the connecting train (23.30/06.20 hrs) for Lucknow Overnight onboard.

Day 06. Lucknow - Sravasti

Arrive Lucknow at 06.20 hrs and transfer to the hotel for breakfast. Post breakfast, proceed for Sravasti. Visit Sahet Mahet, and ruins of Jetavana Vihar, where Lord Buddha spent 24 rainy seasons. The site is also known for the famous Anand Bodhi tree, age-old stupas, majestic monasteries and several temples. Overnight stay in Sravasti. Day 07. Sravasti - Lumbini

Check out Sravasti and proceed for Lumbini. Upon reaching Lumbini, check in the hotel. Lumbini during the birth of Lord Buddha was the forest. Visit the Maya-Devi Temple and the sacred pond which are associated to the roots of Buddhism. Overnight stay in Lumbini.

Day 08 . Lumbini - Kushinagar Land of Buddha Tour

Leave Lumbini for Kushinagar. Kushinagar is the place where Buddha entered perfect tranquility the state of Mahaparinirvana. Visit Mahaparinirvana temple & Ramabhar Stupa (cremation place of Lord Buddha) in Kushinagar, one of the prime Buddhist pilgrimage sites in the country. Overnight in Kushinagar.

Day 09. Kushinagar - Varanasi

Check out Kushinagar and proceed for Varanasi via drive. On arrival here begin the sightseeing of Sarnath, the buried Buddhist town where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon. Visit Buddhist temple, Stupas, museum and ruins during the excursion to Sarnath. Overnight in Varanasi.

Day 10 . Varanasi - Bodhgaya

Early morning boat ride on river Ganges to see the bathing & cremation Ghats. In the morning, begin the Varanasi city tour with a visit to Bharat Mata temple and Banaras Hindu University. Later, check out the spiritual city for Bodhgaya. This is one of the holiest Buddhist pilgrimage centres. It was here that Gautama attained enlightenment and became Buddha under the "Bodhi Tree". After relaxing for sometime, visit Mahabodhi Temple Complex built by Ashoka the Great in 3rd Century BC and gaze at the offshoot of the Bodhi Tree in gratitude. Overnight in Bodhgaya.

Day 11 . Bodhgaya - Rajgir - Bodhgaya

Full day excursion to Rajgir and Nalanda. Rajgir was the capital of 6th century Magadha empire and rose to prominence because of Lord Buddha frequent visits to the kingdom. Also, here he gave many spiritual discourses. Rajgir tour comprises a visit to Gridhakuta via ropeway, Sapataparni cave, Ajatsatru fort and Venuvana Vihara. Next half of the day is devoted towards Nalanda. This is the world's oldest university founded in the 5th century. Also visit the monasteries and temples with impressive Buddhist & Hindu images. Return to Bodhgaya for overnight stay.

Day 12 . Bodhgaya – Onward Destination

Morning visit Mahabodhi Temple and bid adieu to Lord Buddha, fused in the air and the aura of Bodhgaya. In time transfer to the airport to board the connecting International Flight for onward destination.
