Visit to the City of Taj - Agra is probably the most exciting way to explore the classic India. The Taj Mahal is a dedication to his wife of a mourning Badshah. Apart from this, other Mughal built classical wonder and architectural marvels including Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri offer first hand experience to explore the anecdotes and legends associated with these monuments.
Day 01 : Delhi / Agra
In the morning our driver will pick you from the hotel. Proceed for Agra about (200 kms / 4 hours drive). Upon arrival check in to hotel.
Afternoon visit Agra Fort. Stands on the banks of the river Yamuna about 1 km red sandstone building that is Agra Fort dominates the city in Mughal dominance. Designed and built by Emperor Akbar in 1565 A.D., the fort is surrounded by a 70 foot high wall. The fort complex is dotted with beautiful Pearl Mosque and other structures of Mughal dominance like Diwan-i-Khas, Jahangiri Mahal, Diwan-i-Am and Moti Masjid. Before sunset, proceed to Taj Mahal, the architectural wonder of the world, built by Emperor Shah Jehan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Capture the golden hues of marble dome in great zeal during the evening at Taj Mahal. Overnight stay in Agra.
Day 02 : Agra / Delhi / Onward Destination
Morning visit Fatehpur Sikri (44 kms and 1 hour drive). This old Mughal capital town was built by Emperor Akbar. But later he was compelled to abandon the city because of shortage of water. Fatehpur Sikri is the best example of the culmination of Hindu Muslim architecture and is still best preserved city as compared to its other Mughal counterparts. In time, drive to Delhi airport / hotel to connect flight for onward destination.
